The Parish of St. Theresa provides a Sacramental preparation program for adults who have never been baptized or have not received the Sacraments of the Eucharist or Confirmation. Together, the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, & Eucharist make up the Sacraments of Initiation.
This preparation is called the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults or the OCIA Program. Catechists for this program are Roman Catholics in good standing with the Church who are willing to share their experience, knowledge, hope and faith with those approaching entrance into the Roman Catholic Church.
Currently, the process at St. Theresa's involves 2 basic commitments from the beginning of October until the end of May:
1) Meeting each Tuesday evening for class that focuses on the United States Catholic Catechism for Adults and the Bible.
2) Meeting each Sunday at 9am for the celebration of Mass. Those enrolled in the program participate in the Liturgy of the Word with the entire congregation and then are dismissed for private discussion during the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
If you are interested in the OCIA program, please contact the parish office at info@sttheresa450.org.
